To provided selected worldwide folk songs, classical music pieces, art songs or pop songs for singing and instrumental playing. Some of the classical or modern tunes are given new Chinese lyrics which match well with the linguistic tones and relative pitches.
To choose pieces or excerpts relevant to the topics and suitable for musical appreciation. With the provision of learning focuses, guidelines and related materials, students are able to appraise music and to think critically while understanding different musical context.
To help students to create their own works from what is learnt through creative activities suitable for individual and group participation with the provision of related hints, guidelines, examples and clear appraisal criteria, with e-learning elements added to certain activities. All these help students to create music with confidence, effectiveness and fun.
